Giant Foam Magnetic Letters

Magnetic foam letters giant set These giant magnetic letters are a must for teaching the Letters and Sounds programme, supporting whole class phonics instruction. The letter patterns represented follow the progression of Letters and Sounds and are colour coded to make learning easier and fun. As you introduce each sound week by week, you can keep it on the top of the whiteboard so that words can be created from letters that have previously been taught. Children can see the process of blending by pushing the letters together and the process of segmenting by pulling the letters apart. After whole class instruction children can break up into pairs and practise with the smaller Smart Phonics magnetic letters (available separately) for reinforcement and consolidation. Contains 50 large magnets (height approximately 160mm).

Magnetic Phoneme Frames
These phoneme frames are used for building words from 2 to 6 phonemes in length with foam magnetic letters. Each frame provides a template so that children can see that words are made up of different phonemes, which can be represented by a single letter or a digraph. (as referred to extensively in the Letters and Sounds programme across the Phases 2 - 5) The variety of phoneme frame sizes means that children can begin with simple VC and CVC word forms, and build up to more complicated structures as their experience and confidence grows. Each box contains 22 magnetic strips of different sizes.

Here, the colour-coded part represents phonic regularity while the letters in black represent the tricky part of the word.
