Embedding well established principles of good dyslexic teaching, Blitz provides a tightly structured, full scripted, teaching programme for use with all primary aged pupils having difficulty making a start in  reading and writing. Written by a dyslexia specialist, it delivers the basics skills crucial for progress  in literacy through a range of     multi-sensory teaching approaches and activities.

The programme assumes the pupil has very little prior knowledge of letter sounds or key sight words. It gradually builds up their ability to read and spell basic VC, CVC words, recognise automatically high      frequency words, and to be able to use both in context when reading and writing.

Used successfully by schools and advisory support services, it is  mentioned in the Government initiated book ‘What works for pupils with literacy difficulties?’ (Greg Brooks 2007) as being the basis used for developing one of the top 20 literacy interventions in the country.

ü suitable for all children experiencing difficulties in early literacy

ü fully scripted programme, requiring no specialist teaching expertise

ü uses a  multi-sensory and interactive approach with many    highly  motivating games and  activities

ü equally successful with small groups or individual children
