www.lessonplanspage.com
A well-classified  free lesson plan site with good content. Lots of variety, easy to navigate, clear lesson plans. Contributing teachers can be emailed.  Participation and contributions invited. Searchable. Some printable worksheets Discussion forum. Free newsletter announcing new lesson plans, site updates etc.

www.atozteacherstuff.com
A directory site with lots of good content in addition to free lesson plans, including printable material, articles, teaching tips, forum etc. Good navigation. Search by theme, grade or topic. Networked with sister site...

www.lessonplanz.com
Similar to sister site above, but without the tips and articles. Facility to toggle between the two sites and others within the network. Some of the material may be duplicated, but plenty of free lesson plans nonetheless.

www.primaryresources.co.uk
UK national curriculum linked site,  NGfL. approved. Clear uncluttered navigation, lots of useful content for the Primary curriculum, and a good selection of printable worksheets. These are mainly in pdf format, so make sure you have acrobat reader downloaded. A great site if you're stuck for a lesson. (Of course, none of us ever are, are we...)

www.teachingideas.co.uk
Doesn't quite qualify as a free lesson plans site, as the content is lesson ideas rather than lesson plans. However loads of teaching ideas, tips and strategies from contributing teachers. If you have a teaching idea that has worked well, share it on this site.

www.lessonplancentral.com
Part of the Family Education Network, linking to free lesson plans from a variety of sites. Much of the material involves web-based learning, so all your students will need access to a computer.

SIGHTWORD SPELLING A unique multisensory game resource for spelling high frequency words IN CONTEXT.
THE BOXES FONT A powerful tool for creating instant letter-shape "boxes"
Fractions Footsteps The  multisensory game that teaches fractions concepts.
AND MUCH MORE! come on over..

www.lessonplanet.com
Boasts the "biggest directory of lesson plans on the web (30,000)". However to have access to all of these involves paying an annual subscription of $24.95 per annum. This "gold membership" subscription also buys one year's use of a selection of teachers' web tools, such as a newletter maker, Teacher site maker, lesson maker etc.  For free lesson plans, the "bronze membership" will give you access to a mere 3,000 lesson plans. "Silver" membership only costs $9.95 p.a., and gives you access to all 30,000  lesson plans, but you don't get the tools except for 15 days free trial. Although not strictly free, I'd say that's a pretty good deal - particularly if you're living in the UK while the £ is strong!

www.lessonplansearch.com
Plenty of useful content on this site if you can get past  the irritating ads and popups to reach the free lesson plans.  Personally I couldn't.

Obviously there are other  free lesson plan sites: these are the best ones I've found. If you'd like to suggest a site that is of general teacher interest and contains free lesson plans, please take a minute to send an email to

If you are looking for PHONICS LESSON PLANS, we have a  similar page of  site reviews dedicated just to
that topic. Click the link:  phonics lesson plans

As long as your submission fits in with what we are offering on this page, it is likely that it will be included; however the final decision rests with the editor.
