dyslexia friendly spelling game for learning Dolch sight words SIGHT WORD SPELLING

TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK : BEING REPRINTED WITH UPDATED UK HIGH FREQUENCY WORD LIST

                article

This  game by Bob Hext features 128 sight words selected from the UK Literacy Strategy sight wonrd list for children from Kindergarten to Year 2. The principle is simple: sight word + picture on one side; picture plus sight word SHAPE on the other, on laminated, wipe-clean card for children to write on with a dry-wipe marker. Games can be played putting the sight words into sentences, helping children make the transition from spelling correctly at word level to continuing to spell correctly once the sight words are being used in sentences. As with most of our games for literacy and numeracy intervention, SIGHT WORD SPELLING is designed to be appropriate for learners of all ages, even though the content of the cards is very basic.

Bob developed this system teaching children suffering from severe autism who had extreme short term memory problems.   Highly recommended.
