The Boxes Font is a set of six fonts to create visual support
for letter and word shapes.
A valuable support for spelling activities, cloze passages, modern languages
etc. Includes punctuation and European accents.
Can be formatted like any other font.
Boxes Fonts install into your windows font file and appear
with the rest of the fonts on your drop-down font menu.
Boxes can be used with any package that accesses the font file.

Box letter shapes, as
illustrated above and used in the Crossbow BOX DICTATIONS and SIGHTWORD SPELLING
resources, help people with weak auditory - visual connections (common in
dyslexia) to map phonemes onto graphemes.

prompt a specific word, as in a cloze passage: Type the sentence: "The leaves on the tree are green" Highlight "tree" and change font to "Boxes Longlegs" (Example A opposite) You may want to encourage cursive writing in the boxes by using "boxes joined up" (b) You may want to show all or some of the letters in the boxes (c) You may want to use the script font without the boxes (D) You may want to prompt certain letters to practise specific spellings by using "boxes colored" (E) Or you may want any

In each case, it is simply a matter of highlighting the word and changing the font. Once installed on your hard drive, BOXES is there whenever you want it.
